The second Swansea Comic and Gaming Convention takes place at the Brangwyn Hall, Swansea on 27th May 2017.

A "convention for the community by the community", the event was founded by prominent members of the local geek community, who wanted to give a little back to their supporters.

Held for the first time in 2016, SCGC incorporates various aspects of geek fandom into the convention, including (but not limited to) comics, table-top and board gaming, cosplay and video gaming.

The aim of the SCGC is promote creators both new and old from these areas and to also support and raise awareness for their chosen charity Maggie’s Swansea.

Their conventions offer many involving activities including gaming demos (both video gaming and table top and board gaming); fun and interactive comics activities such as the Swansea Comics Collective’s legendary wall comic; and cosplay panels, competitions and parades, various raffles.

    Lancaster Comics Day 2017

The third Lancaster Comics Day takes place on Sunday 11th June 2017, Lancaster Library 11.00am - 5.00pm.

Guests are Roy of the Rovers artist David Sque (making a very rare comic event appearance); writer and editor Barrie Tomlinson (Roy of the Rovers, Tiger, Eagle); Richard Piers Rayner (Doctor Who, Road to Perdition - and also rarely seen at comic conventions); writer, artist and publisher Tim Perkins (creator of the stunning series Worlds End, finally dragged from his lair after three years of trying); Nickolas Brokenshire (fab artist on Amelia Cole and Once and Future Queen); writer and publisher Tom Ward, whose Merrick the Sensational Elephantman , created with artist Luke Parker, has been a publishing sensation (and a fantastic comic); fantasy author A.S. Chambers; and publisher Michael Barrett, author of the graphic novel Preston North End: Rise of the Invincibles.

The event will feature a range of panels, with a panel featuring David Sque and Barrie Tomlinson alongside Richard Piers Rayner, who was Artist in Residence at Middlesbrough FC for 16 years, and wrote and illustrated Middlesbrough FC: the Unseen History, talking Roy of the Rovers, football comics and more.

Lancaster Comics Day 2017 - Creating Comics PosterArtist and publisher Tim Perkins, artist Nick Brokenshire and comics editor and writer John Freeman will be happily celebrating the work of US comic creator and legend Jack Kirby, whose centenary is in August; there will also be a comics publishing panel with Tim, Tom Ward, Michael Barrett and A.S. Chambers - find out more about the ways to get your comic out there, including tips on self publishing, running a crowd funder, digital publishing and more; and the day will round out with Richard back on stage talking to John about his work on various Doctor Who comics, including Evening's Empire, the Seventh Doctor written by Andrew Cartmel, recently released as a graphic album featuring some all-new pages.

Alongside the panels many local comic creators will have stalls selling their comics on the Day; the Games Room run by Sam Phillips and House Lancaster Gaming returns, and of course how could there not be plenty of mouth-watering Cosmic Comic Cake thanks to Katie White?

    Cosplayers and kids are welcome.

The 2017 London Super Comic Convention will be held at the Business Design Centre during the 2017 August Bank holiday weekend. It's conveniently located near Central London and easily accessible by public transport. Don't miss out on what is sure to be the best LSCC yet!

A three-day event held at the Business Design Centre (BDC) in Angel Islington, LSCC 2017 will include a room entirely dedicated to its Artist Alley, similar to that which is offered by many major comic-cons in the United States. Giving everyone a far more dynamic environment to meet their favourite creators in.

Attendees will have the pleasure of watching panels and special screenings in the comfort of a purpose built auditorium which is fully sound proofed and has stadium seating. There will also be 2 further dedicated rooms for viewing panels and other events which will be fully segregated from the rest of the con.

The main exhibitor hall will continue to incorporate the best selection of exhibitors, comic dealers and merchandise stands the UK convention scene has to offer.

As a bumper three-day event located in the heart of London and in a venue where we are the sole occupants we’re confident that we can offer the people of London, and the UK, a Comic-Con they can be proud of!!!

Tickets will be available, via the event's website, at the end of October 2016.
