2000AD’s ground-breaking ‘Trifecta’ storyline collected

Judge Dredd: Trifecta

Last year, 2000AD readers suddenly realised that three seemingly unconnected stories by three of the legendary title’s top writers were actually part of the massive multi-part crossover set in the world of Judge Dredd.

It was the kind of crossover story rarely attempted in British comics. In fact, the only time I can recall a similar experiment of any length in an adventure comic is from back in the 1960s, when TV Century 21 ran a galaxy-spanning science fiction meets spies storyline involving characters from Fireball XL5, Stingray and even Thunderbirds Lady Penelope – and it was nowhere near as ambitious as Trifecta.

Now all three Trifecta series by Al Ewing, Simon Spurrier, and Rob Williams have been collected into a special hardback edition for the UK and Ireland with a unique lenticular cover by Henry Flint, on sale from 15th August.

There will also be a simultaneous worldwide digital release through the 2000 AD @2000AD facebook.com/2000AD webshop, Amazon, Kindle Fire and Nook.

In the terrible aftermath of The Day of Chaos, Judge Dredd faces a threat from within the very heart of Justice Department that could see Mega-City One change forever, and undercover Judge and ‘simp’ Jack Point finds himself on the run from not just his side, but every side. Meanwhile, the undercover Judge known as Dirty Frank finds himself on the moon … for no apparent reason.

Culminating with a huge issue-long episode, Trifecta is one of the most critically acclaimed Judge Dredd stories ever, descriubed as “ground-breaking” and “mind-blowing” by fans.

Judge Dredd: Trifecta is available through all good bookshops, physical and online, including Forbidden Planet and Waterstones
