Immediate Media set to launch Peter Rabbit magazine

Peter Rabbit Magazine Issue 1

Immediate Media is to launch Peter Rabbit magazine on 9th April, the first and only magazine to bring the tales of Beatrix Potter to life.

Based on Potter’s popular children’s book characters and creatively re-imagined in the successful CBeebies animation, Peter Rabbit magazine aims to encourage 3-5 year olds to explore and play outside, while nurturing an interest in nature and wildlife. It features popular preschool favourites such as colouring, puzzles, sticking and creating. In addition, each page will support an area of the Early Years Curriculum.

Immediate Media says Peter Rabbit magazine is expected to deliver over £1.4m retail sales value to UK retailers, pointing out the iconic brand has a 110-year legacy, boasts annual book sales in excess of two million copies, and the CBeebies Peter Rabbit Christmas Special broadcast on BBC attracted more than 1.7 million viewers. The animations are produced by Silvergate, also the rights owners of the highly successful Octonauts show. (Immediate also publishes a successful Octonauts magazine).

Retailing at £2.50, each issue of the for-weekly magazine will come with bespoke stickers, a special pullout story and a high-end free gift.  The launch issue comes with a special springtime adventure section that teaches children about the nature and wildlife they can explore outside now.

To support the launch, Immediate has produced bespoke branded POS packs for the leading independent stores and the title will be stocked by major retail multiples.

Peter Rabbit is a magical educational magazine for 3-5 year-old boys and girls who have a hunger for radishes and a thirst for adventure,” enthuses Sara Oldham, Editor of the title. “We’re delighted to be bringing this well-loved brand to a brand new audience.”

• Peter Rabbit magazine will be available at major retailers and independent stores around the UK from 9th April
