A new comics project, Comic Soapbox Scotland, is showcasing politically engaged comics created in Scotland. The team behind it say the project is non-partisan and wants to hear from everyone working in the field of political comic comment.

Cartoonists featured so far include David Kerr, Bob Turner, Emma Johncock, David B Cooper and the Scottish Cartoon Art Studio’s Terry Anderson, who is one of the artists in The Auld Acquaintance exhibition, featuring caricatures, editorial cartoons and comic strips on the Scottish independence referendum, at the Leiper Fine Art, West George Street, Glasgow until 19th September. It will also be shown in London, Lleida and Limoges in the autumn.

Gill Hatcher and Stephen Goodall will be talking about Comic Soapbox Scotland as part of the Auld Aquaintance programme on Saturday 6th September. It’s a free event but please book ahead here.
