Barry Kitson, Andrew Wildman part of Dutch Comic Con Line-Up

British artists Barry Kitson and Andrew Wildman are part of a growing guest line up for next year’s Dutch Comic Con, which will be held 28th – 29th of March 2015 at the Jaarbeurs Exhibition Centre, Utrecht.

Dutch Comic Con is an event drawn from a mixture of comics, films, cartoons and games from the last few decades and, just like both major British and US conventions, it will have an Artist Alley featuring both Dutch and international comic book artists such as Shi creator Billy Tucci, writers and a number of fantasy media personalities including Game of Thrones stars Joseph Gatt and Julian Glover and Ghostbusters actor Ernie Hudson.

Akong with other announced guest such as There will be a two-day Cosplay contest with some amazing prizes up for grabs. Whilst the complete program and full line up has yet to be finalized; we are extremely proud of the names we have already announced.

Barry KitsonBarry Kitson‘s first professional work was Spider-Man for Marvel UK. He has worked on many titles including 2000AD, drawing “Future Shocks”, “Judge Dredd” and “Judge Anderson”; Batgirl, L.E.G.I.O.N., Adventures of Superman, Shadow of the Bat, Azrael, JLA Year One, Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight, The Titans, Empire, Legion of Super-Heroes for DC Comics; Wolverine, The Order, Secret Invasion: Fantastic Four and The Amazing Spider-Man for Marvel Comics; and many more.

Andrew WildmanIllustrator, comics and storyboard artist Andrew Wildman‘s work as an illustrator has been used in advertising and publishing. But his work in the field of comics, illustrating for books such as Transformers, The X-Men, Spider-Man and Venom is what he’s best known for, working with such acclaimed writers as Larry Hama, Peter David and Ralph Macchio, work that has gained him a devoted fan base.

Further work includes character and environment design and animated movie production for the TV and video games industries such as story boarding Doctor Who and the hit animation series The Mad Hatter Chronicles, and the film Wing Commander; plus design and concept work on games The Mummy, Gunlok, Jesse James: Gunfighter, Delta Force, Largo Winch and Dredd versus Death.

Along with European comics guests such as animator and comic book artist Marissa Delbressine, GI Joe and Snooze artist Chris Evenhuis, Donald Duck artist Robert van der Kroft and January Jones creator Eric Heuvel, the event will have a number of “Fantasy Cars” on display, including the 1966 Batmobile and Ecto-1 from Ghostbusters, plus retailer stands, publisher tables and other genre publishers, a staple part of past Dutch Comic Cons. There will also be a theatre offering a programme of all the newest releases and trailers.

As the Netherland’s biggest convention, it looks like a great event with a splendid mix of creators on board.
