Here’s this week’s list of comics – both US and UK releases – on sale in specialist UK comic shops today, Wednesday 4th February 2015. We’ve picked out the titles published by British publishers in bold below, or titles with a British connection we’re aware of, including cover artists.

Titan Comics has a number of new titles, although I did notice Diamond was re-plugging Penguins of Madagascar #3 this week, but Titan’s own web site states it was released last Wednesday. Anyway, check it out, as Jim Alexander is the writer on that one.

Look out too for Crossed: Badlands #71 from Avatar, which features a story from David Hine that rips open a fresh bloody wound in the Crossed universe as he takes us back to Japan.

Previews Toychest 2015

For fans of toys and other comic-related merchandise, this week also sees the release of Previews Toychest 2015, featuring new items shown at Toy Fair and hundreds of collectibles shipping until June 2015. It includes a plethora of backlist items, all in-stock now and ready to order from your local comic shop!

Don’t forget that despite many British publishers lack of faith in full-blown cover to cover comic strip action and humour, there are still comics on sale in newsagents that still delight in bringing you such subversive delights, including The Beano and Commando, with great strips featuring in titles such as Judge Dredd MegazineDoctor Who MagazineDoctor Who AdventuresTOXICVIZ and many more.

The Hatchette Judge Dredd Collection has also just launched in newsagents.

Plus, the wonderful Phoenix Comic is on sale in all Waitrose supermarkets as well as available on subscription.

Lenore: Pink Bellies Trade Paperback (Mature Readers)
Writer, Artist and Cover Artist: Roman Dirge

All four parts of the “Who Will Die” story line are collected together for the first time!In a story line that has been building for for over a year, Roman Dirge, the so-called Arch-Deacon of the Macabre, has been slowly ratcheting up the tension and silliness in a story arc that will seen one of his most beloved characters pushing up the daisies – for good! Seriously this isn’t one of those, dead for a year kind of deals other publishers do, this is the real deal. Deader than an door-nail kind of dead. The sort of dead that leaves the reader gasping in stunned amazement at the sheer audacity of the thing. Seriously, as god is my witness someone’s dying or my name isn’t Ferdinand Marco De Boing Boing III.

• Does Loki join the pursuit of Angela and her tiny, diaper-wearing charge? Well, we’d have to be really cruel to mention him here if he’s not going to turn up. Loki Lies, not solicits. Solicits are always 100% honest.
• Plus, find out why saying “All good angels go to heaven” would get you stabbed by Angela. She’s a little touchy on the topic of the afterlife.
