Dundee’s “Masters Show” 2015 to profile new animation talent

Dundee is fast becoming a go-to location in Scotland for comic-related events. We have Dee-Con in April and the Comics Day in October as part of the Dundee Literary Festival. This year, we also had a Will Eisner event in March.

Another event that could be of interest is the Masters Show 2015 later this month, where students from the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design will be displaying the fruit of their year long study. This show will feature animation, fine art appreciation, forensic and medical art and the appreciation of art in today’s society. As comic fans, we should all get something out of that last one at least.

Famous alumni include Oscar winning sound designer Duncan Craig, Tom Simpson (the former keyboard player with Snow Patrol), Roger Ball from the Average White Band and artist David Mach. The chances are that you may not meet someone famous at the event, but you are going to meet the people who will be producing some of the art and music that you will enjoy in the decades to come. I, for one hope to see you there.
