Something For The Weekend (w/c 22nd August 2026): Judge Anderson Steps Out!

2000AD Prog 1995

Behind a smashing Judge Anderson cover by Jon Davis-Hunt, 2000AD heads ever closer to Prog 2000, with a fine mix of great strips. Top of the list has to be the cracking conclusion to “Tharg’s 3rillers: Mindmine” by Rory McconvilleColin MacNeilPeter Doherty and Simon Bowland. Both script and story on this are brilliant, with a fantastic end twist that, just possibly, surely sets up a return for the story’s angry protagonist. Utterly brilliant, as is the rest of the Prog, but I’m also enjoying  “Anderson : Psi Division” by Emma BeebyNick Dyer, Richard Elson and Ellie De Ville – and ” Scarlet Traces: Cold War” by Ian Edginton, D’Israeli and Annie Parkhouse is just a thoroughly enjoyable romp from a team at the top of their game.

Plus, Judge Dredd Megazine Issue 375 is out this week – details below!

Over at Titan Comics, this week sees the release of a brand new arc of Assassin’s Creed with #11. This is a perfect jumping on point for new readers, a story that finds Charlotte reeling from the meeting with Erudtio. Explosive secrets are uncovered in the start of this brand new arc!

It’s Fira’s final, most challenging test in Dark Souls #4 – for the fate of Andolus, the ancient Wyrm King, will determine the very future of her Kingdom!

In Tank Girl: Two Girls One Tank #4, the series reaches its explosive conclusion as our heroine comes to blows with her long-lost chum. Keep the tissues handy, folks; you’re gonna need the whole box!

Two more Doctor Who trade paperbacks out this week including Doctor Who: The Twelfth Doctor Volume Two, written by Robbie Morrison and illustrated by Brian Williamson and a collection of last year’s Summer Who event, written by superstar writer Paul Cornell (Wolverine) with art by Neil Edwards (Assassin’s Creed) – Four Doctors!

Hachette Partworks, whose partwork titles include Doctor Who: The Complete History and Judge Dredd: The Mega Collection, continue their How To Draw The Marvel Way, along with their re-release of their hugely successful part work, Marvel’s Marvel Ultimate Graphic Novelseries.
