The Phoenix launches “Star in a Comic” competition for kids

Phoenix "Star in a Comic" Competition Banner

Do you know an awesome kid who has what it takes to create the star of a new comic story? Perhaps it could even be them? If so, then you should let them know Britain’s The Phoenix comic is running a new competition to find the next super star comic character.

Open to all children, the competition opens the weekly comic’s pages so a new hero or heroine can be born.

To win all entrants need to get drawing and create a new comic character. This could be your alter ego, an awesome new hero/heroine or maybe even you! Entrants will also need to show what makes that character awesome (like a secret power or ability), and of course all great comic characters have an arch-enemy. Draw them too.

Entries can be a comic, a drawing, a story or even a video. Go wild!

The winner’s character (perhaps even the winner themselves) will star in a comic drawn by Pirates of Pangea and Mega Robo Bros artist Neill Cameron that will run in The Phoenix for four weeks, starting in Issue 300. They will also receive a special bound copy of their story, an annual subscription to The Phoenix for them or their school, plus a full set of Phoenix Presents books!

There will also be 10 runners-up that will win a selection of Phoenix Presents books.

• Entries must reach The Phoenix by 31st May 2017 – full competition entry details and terms and conditions are here on The Phoenix web site
