You’re All Just Jealous Of My Jetpack!

You're Just Jealous of my Jetpack by Tom GauldCartoonist Tom Gauld has followed up his widely praised graphic novel Goliath with a collection of cartoons made for The Guardian newspaper. Over the past eight years, Gauld has produced his weekly You’re All Just Jealous of My Jetpack cartoon for the Saturday Review section of  the newspaper, cartoons that distil  Gauld’s dark humor, impeccable timing, and distinctive style perfectly.

Arrests by the fiction police and fictional towns designed by Tom Waits intermingle hilariously with piercing observations about human behavior and whimsical imaginings of the future.

“The author offers wry perspectives on many topics, from trivial amusements to darkly serious subjects,” enthuses Publishers Weekly, “from literary infighting to the war on women, and from video games to generational conflict. Instead of giving in to despair, Gauld seems to embrace human absurdities, reveling in the comedic possibilities offered without languishing in mean-spirited cruelty.”

Tom will be promoting the book (and his other work) at San Diego Comic Con (18th – 21st July), the Edinburgh Book Festival in August  and the BoomFest St Petersberg in September.
