Dudley-based auction house Aston’s will be hosting an Entertainment & Memorabilia Auction later this month, which includes books and more from the private collection of comedian, quiz show host and comics creator Bob Monkhouse.

The auction includes cinema posters, lobby cards, music memorabilia, records, laser discs, comics, film props, autographs and sports memorabilia.

Terrific - Full Set

Many of the comic lots are US comic bundles, but there are plenty of British comics on the lot list too, such as a complete set of Terrific, which reprinted Marvel stories in a weekly format – all 43  issues, some featuring Jack Kirby artwork. One lot of British comics includes titles from the 1940s onwards, including The Dandy Issue 319, and the Alan Class comics are also well represented over several lots.

If you’re a fan of Eagle, there’s quite a bundle on offer, too.

The 1979 Dark They Were, and Golden Eyed advertising poster “We Sell Dreams and Sometimes Nightmares” feature art by Bryan Talbot and measures 20 x 30 inches with slight water damage, pinholes in corners and two four inch tears at the top and bottom of the poster.

There are James Bond posters and photographs aplenty, including a large collection of paperback books, and a James Bond golf score card signed by Sean Connery, among the many lots, which include 1960s singles and even a Metallica drum stick.

Doctor Who First Day covers, stamps and 1960s “Dr Who and the Daleks” lobby cards are also on offer.
