Comic Scene Issue 2 Celebrates 80 Years of The Beano, giant-size Christmas Special announced

ComicScene UK #2 - CoverComicScene UK Issue 2 is in comic stores and available to order online now, celebrating 80 years of the Beano and humour comics.

This issue includes interviews with Emily McGorman Bruce, Tim Quinn and Dicky Howett, Frank Quitely and the continuation of a wide-ranging interview with Rachael Smith.

Plus there are features on features on Beano at 80, “Top 10 Brit Comedy Comics” 2000AD‘s “Big Dave”, my own “Nuts and Bolts” feature celebrating the continuing appeal of humour comics in newsagents,  Deja Who, Bluebottle & Basher, Coventry Comic Con, The Broons, Oor Wullie, Marc Jackson’s new digital comic GOOF!, Splank, The Phoenix, Buster, Whizzer and Chips, Cheeky Weekly, Oink!, Alan Moore and Steve Parkhouse’s brilliant “The Bojeffries Saga”, Asterix,  The Beatles, Jack Staff, Sniper Elite, Ken Reid – all rounded off with a “Last Word” from Pat Mills on Percy Puffer. 

Comic Scene UK Issue 3 Cover ArtIt’s a busy time for ComicScene UK publisher Comicsflix, headed up by Tony Foster and the small Comic Scene team. As we previously reported, Diamond Comic Distributors have confirmed they can provide the magazine to over 400 comic and speciality shops.
