Liverpool’s retro gaming and video shop VideOdyssey has announced a Stan Lee Tribute Day next Saturday (24th November 2018) in aid of the Stan Lee Foundation.
Paying homage to the Marvel legend who died earlier this week, expect an event that will celebrate the magic of his comic creation genius.
With artwork, workshops, and a screening of his best Marvel Comics Universe cameo appearance (as voted for by fans in time for this event) and with an all mighty Stan Lee Marvel quiz, guests include author Alan Cowsill and writer and publisher Tim Quinn – both former Marvel UK editors.
“Bring your brains, your pads and pencils sharpened ready for action, and let’s make some comics!” Day the organisers.
“Stan Lee has helped inspire thousands of writers and artists, let’s keep his legacy eternal.”
Proceeds will go to the Stan Lee Foundation, a non-profit organization that seeks to provide access to literacy, education and the arts throughout the nation.

The founder of downthetubes, which he established in 1998. John works as a comics and magazine editor, writer, and on promotional work for the Lakes International Comic Art Festival. He is currently editor of Star Trek Explorer, published by Titan – his third tour of duty on the title originally titled Star Trek Magazine.
Working in British comics publishing since the 1980s, his credits include editor of titles such as Doctor Who Magazine, Babylon 5 Magazine, and more. He also edited the comics anthology STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics. He has also edited several comic collections, including volumes of “Charley’s War” and “Dan Dare”.
He’s the writer of “Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies” for B7 Comics; “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs” with Dave Hailwood.
