Comics is All You Need: Oxford Comics Network spotlights The Beatles, Cold War!

This week’s free meeting of the Oxford Comics Network offers an intriguing look at Science Fiction and Beatles comics.

The meeting at TORCH will be hearing from – and debating with – Jordan Newton (from Canterbury Christ Church University), who will explore science fiction comics as an allegory of the Cold War.

This discussion will be followed by an appearance from Katie Kessler (from Oxford University), who will discuss representation of The Beatles in comics and cartoons.

The Oxford Comics Network meets every fortnight during university terms. Everyone welcome – you don’t need to be a student. The events are free, refreshments supplied.

• Oxford Comics Network 5.15pm Tuesday, 27th November, TORCH (The Oxford Research Centre for Humanities), Radcliffe Observatory Quarter, Woodstock Road, Oxford OX2 6GG
