ComicScene comes to newsagents across the UK tomorrow!

ComicScene Volume 2 Issue 0ComicScene – a dedicated magazine to comics and comic culture – relaunches tomorrow, Saturday 22nd December – and will be on sale in selected WHSmith, McColls and all good comic shops across the UK.

Available from 1000 locations in the UK and Ireland, the first new issue leads with interviews with comic creators Brian Michael Bendis and Dave Gibbons and film director and producer Richard Donner about Superman at 80 and 40 years of Superman the Movie.

ComicScene #0 2018 - A New Life for Brian

Writer Grant Morrison also talks about Klaus and the Crying Snowman, and of course features in the magazine’s celebration of DC Thomson’s SF title Starblazer, written by our very own Colin Noble. Grant was an early contributor to the long-running title that’s sadly ni longer published but 40 years on since its launch, is still fondly remembered.

Clearly in celebratory mood, ComicScene’s features also include “40 years of Star Lord” and “40 Years of Star Wars Weekly” (the latter written by Fantha Tracks contributor Mark Newbold), a run down of the best Christmas comics – and former Roy of the Rovers editor and book author Barrie Tomlinson brings you his ‘Perfect Annual’.

“We never expected to be on the shelves of WHSmith or in comic shops less than a year after launch,” he continues. “The response to the magazine has been fantastic. We now have an opportunity to shout out loud what’s available for creators and comic publishers beyond our fan base.

  1. There’s even an article on Starblazer by a certain rotund individual

  2. This is caters exactly to my interests and I’d like to support it, but £6 is a tad too pricey. I might still try out the first issue but I already know I won’t be a regular at that price.
