2000AD Prog 2114 comes with a terrific “Skip Tracer” cover by Neil Roberts (and the strip’s great fun, too, and right now, yes of course I turned straight to the latest episode of “Fiends of the Eastern Front” – and was not disappointed as this World War One-set gothic horro builds to its conclusion. Great stuff!

Judge Dredd Megazine 404 - Cover

Alongside some great strips in Judge Dredd Megazine 404, particularly the stunning episode of “Lawless” written by Dan Abnett, drawn by Phil Winslade, the new “Storm Warning” from Leah Moore and John Reppion, with atmospheric art by Tom Foster, and the Operation Overlord extra (trailed here), there’s an interview with Rebellion editor Keith Richardson from Karl Stock, offering insights into the choices behind the company’s upcoming Treasury of British Comics releases.

Invasion 1984 - CoverAs we’ve previously reported, these include Invasion 1984 with great art from Eric Bradbury, Sweeny Toddler and a welcome second volume of The Leopard from Lime Street. Keith reveals the first volume sold very well – but even he was surprised just how well!

The great news in the feature are plans  for Misty Presents: The Art of Jordi Badía Romero, out in October.

“It’s a bit of a departure from the usual Misty volumes,” Keith says. “I’ve always been aware of [Jordi’s brother] Enrique Romero from Modesty Blaise, but I wasn’t aware of Jordi Romero under I started flicking through our Misty copies, because there wasn’t much written about him.

“Enrique is still alive and well and working, but unfortunately Jordi died in the 1980s, in his early thirties. His work is electric and very alive, so I put some of it into the Scream & Misty special, coloured by Barbara Nosenzo, and it got a good reaction.”

Wildcat Book 1: Turbo JonesTalking of the Treasury of British Comics, don’t forget the first Wildcat collection, Turbo Jones, is on sale now, written by Barrie Tomlinson and John Sanders with art by Ian Kennedy.

In 2488 Earth history professor, Turbo Jones predicted that the planet would be destroyed in 2500 by a vast meteoroid storm.
