Eisner Award-winning British comic creator Nick Abadzis been invited by Scott Eder Gallery at the Mana Contemporary in New Jersey to put on a show.

“It’ll be in Fall (Autumn to you/us Brits),” says Nick, “so that gives me a little time to sort through over thirty years’ worth of comic art.”

Now living in New York, Nick is the winner of various international storytelling awards, including an Eisner in 2008 for his graphic novel Laika. He also works as an editorial consultant for publishing and a corporate scribe AKA graphic recorder – he has collaborated with clients such as EY, KPMG, Accenture, ESPN, Coca-Cola, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, IBM, General Electric, WOBI, Visa, TEDxTeen and many others.

He’s been published in the USA by Condé Nast, First Second, Marvel Comics, Titan Comics, DC Comics, in the UK by the BBC, various national newspapers including The Guardian, The Times and The Independent, and many other periodicals too numerous to mention; elsewhere in Europe by the likes of Dargaud and Glénat, and in Japan by Kodansha.

He is also known to Doctor Who fandom as the writer of a great many Tenth Doctor adventures (played on screen by David Tennant) on an acclaimed run of stories for Titan Comics, several collections of which are available.

The Scott Eder Gallery exhibits focus on artwork produced and inspired by the groundbreaking comics creators of the past and present, with an important focus given to the distinctive voices and great diversity emanating from the alternative and independent comics scene.

Scott Eder has a long association with and excellent reputation for representing the alt-comics scene in and around the New York metropolitan area precedes him.

“He’s been going since 1997,” Nick notes, “and also has a long history of exhibiting at major conventions worldwide (US, Canada, Italy, Spain, France, Germany, the UK, the Netherlands) and of course via the Internet.

“He launched his eponymous art gallery online 1997. In 2007, the Scott Eder Gallery space opened in Brooklyn’s Dumbo neighbourhood and ten years later made the move to Mana Contemporary in Jersey City.”
