Two Battle Picture Weekly related artworks are being offered on eBay by seller d.g100, spotted on eBay by downthetubes contributor Richard Sheaf.
The first is a “Major Eazy” inspired commission from the late Carlos Ezquerra, re-creating the cover of Battle cover dated 16th October 1976. Bid from £550 or make an offer.
“This is a commission I requested from Carlos Ezquerra some years ago,” the seller notes, who is very sad to see it go “but I need the wall space.
“It is a recreation of a cover from Battle comic October 1976,” he confirms. “He did an amazing job It looks exactly like the cover. The art is framed and in fine condition and is signed by Carlos, measuring approximately 32cm X 39cm.”
The seller also has a “Charley’s War” cover, cover dated 6th September 1980 by Joe Colquhoun – offered at the same starting price.
The date stamp and one speech bubble on the art – which measures approximately 36cm x 46cm – are replacements.
Bidding on both items closes at Sunday (31st March 2019) at lunchtime.
The seller has a number of book cover artworks on offer too, and a Royal Mint Tintin teapot!

He is currently editor of Star Trek Explorer, published by Titan – his third tour of duty on the title originally titled Star Trek Magazine.
Working in British comics publishing since the 1980s, his credits include editor of titles such as Doctor Who Magazine, Babylon 5 Magazine, and more. He also edited the comics anthology STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics. He has also edited several comic collections, including volumes of “Charley’s War” and “Dan Dare”.
He’s the writer of “Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies” for B7 Comics; “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs” with Dave Hailwood.
