We Read Comics Podcast spotlights Jeff Lemire and Dean Ormston’s “Black Hammer”

Radio Summerhall is a group of arts podcasts coming out of the Summerhall arts hub in Edinburgh, and it has recently added the We Read Comics podcast to its roster.

There are two shows up already, the second of which saw myself joining Jenny Mayhew (who also runs a book podcast on Radio Summerhall) and well-kent comics figure John McShane to discuss Jeff Lemire and Dean Ormston‘s first volume of their excellent Black Hammer series from Dark Horse.

The podcast takes the format of a book group style discussion – the presenters are taking turns in choosing a title to read each month (Black Hammer was my choice), that we then discuss among ourselves (in the upcoming April show we are planning to cover DeConnick and De Landro’s Bitch Planet), and round up the show with a quick chat about whatever other comics and graphic novels we’re each reading at the moment.
