Limited Edition Alex Nino art book in the works

The extraordinary comic artist Alex Nino has announced the impending release of a second art book.

A Filipino comics artist best known for his work for US publishers such as DC Comics (initially on supernatural anthologies such as House of Mystery in the 1970s), Marvel Comics and Warren Publishing, and for his work for Heavy Metal magazine, although now retired, Alex continues to draw commissions and attend conventions.

He self-published a collection of artwork, Art Quest of Alex Niño back in 2015, and Mirage: Art Quest of Alex Nino Volume Two will be released as a limited edition in July, in time for this year’s San Diego Comic Con.

Running to 200 pages, with five gatefolds, this new book features many never seen before art in a wide variety of styles and medium – a total of 225 unpublished artworks in all.

For this volume, Alex decided to publish in a larger format, since most of the original artwork are oversized.

Signed and numbered, Mirage: Art Quest of Alex Nino Volume Two is limited to 500 copies only.

Just to whet your appetite, here’s some examples of Alex’s work from down the years, which spans comics, concept art and much more.
