“Eric Clapton Beano” offered in latest Phil-Comics auction

A much sought-after copy of The Beano – No. 1242, cover dated 7th May 1966, which featured on the cover of an album by the legendary Eric Clapton – is up for sale from eBay auctioneer Phil Comics.

Bidding is in three figures for the collectable and sought-after issue being held by Eric Clapton on the cover of the Blues Breakers album, the comic described as a fine example of the issue – and one of many Beano and Dandy comics (1940s to 1960s) in the current auction.

Released in July 1966, Blues Breakers with Eric Clapton is a blues/blues rock album recorded by John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers with Eric Clapton as part of the band, the second album credited to John Mayall after the live John Mayall Plays John Mayall.
