Woking-based Ewbanks has a number of auctions coming up in quick succession that include items which may be of interest to downthetubes readers.
Included in the next Toy and Models auction, taking place 20th May, lots include two Matchbox Thunderbirds Commemorative Sets, BBC Radio Times Limited Editions released in 1992.
That auction is followed the next day, 21st May, by an Entertainment, Memorabilia & Movie Props auction, which includes a lot featuring Judge Dredd, 2000AD, Sam Slade, Eagle, Nemesis, Slaine, Robo-Hunter, Rogue Trooper comics and two Austin Powers boxed figures.
Also on offer are two Andy Capp strips and a combined Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet poster package; six model Batman construction kits in one lot; Star Trek crockery; Gerry Anderson-autographed memorabilia; Jeff Albrecht “Scooby Doo” comic art; film lobby cards; film cels; plenty of Star Wars merchandise, including a publicity book given to reporters and theatre owners to promote the release of the original film in 1977; original costumes from the 1960s Lost in Space series; Harry Potter items; and much more.
On 22nd May, Ewbanks then host their Vintage Posters auction, which includes James Bond, Star Wars posters, a Brides of Dracula (1960) US Window card, and much, much more.

The founder of downthetubes, which he established in 1998. John works as a comics and magazine editor, writer, and on promotional work for the Lakes International Comic Art Festival. He is currently editor of Star Trek Explorer, published by Titan – his third tour of duty on the title originally titled Star Trek Magazine.
Working in British comics publishing since the 1980s, his credits include editor of titles such as Doctor Who Magazine, Babylon 5 Magazine, and more. He also edited the comics anthology STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics. He has also edited several comic collections, including volumes of “Charley’s War” and “Dan Dare”.
He’s the writer of “Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies” for B7 Comics; “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs” with Dave Hailwood.
