A page of “Thunderbirds” art for TV21 by Frank Bellamy is one of a number of Gerry Anderson related items in an upcoming auction from Windsor Auctions – available via The Saleroom.
Windsor Auctions have been tweeting about it in various disguises on Twitter for a few weeks and the catalogue is now available. The item, listed here, is described as, simply, “Storyboard artwork from Thunderbirds “The Earthquake Maker” TV21 No 143 – No3 1967 by the famous artist Frank Bellamy”.
“Windsor Auctions have no need of a lengthy description and like most auction houses, they keep it to a bare minimum,” notes Norman Boyd, keeper of the brilliant Frank Bellamy Checklist Blog and Website.
“But ‘storyboard’ is really reserved for films, I would think! Gerry Anderson fans might like to peruse the rest of the auction as there are some pretty unique items there!”
The auction also includes a special delivery announcement – the birth of a child by Sylvia Anderson in 1967, Space Police production illustrations and framed awards for various Gerry Anderson shows.
Sitting within an auction that also includes both World War One and World War Two memorabilia, silverware and more, the auction takes place on 30th May and the full catalogue is online here.

Around age 11 or 12, I went to the art gallery (still) tacked on to the library in my home town of Kettering. Among the local efforts was a framed colour back page of the Eagle (probably ‘The Shepherd King’. I couldn’t fathom it. Why had someone gone to all the trouble of copying a page of a comic? I hadn’t twigged that this was original art (FB always gave the camera ‘so little excuse’) and that Frank Bellamy lived locally (actually opposite my Uncle’s boyhood gaff in Bath Road, although he can recall Frank’s parents, more than Frank!) Though never a staunch Eagle fan, I went home and set about replicating ‘Montgomery of Alamein’ from the latest issue… 🙂
