London’s Cartoon Museum set to re-open

The Cartoon Museum will re-open its doors to the public on Thursday 17th September, after nearly six months of enforced closure due to Coronavirus Pandemic restrictions.

“We’re very happy to announce we’re re-opening our doors to the public, said director Joe Sullivan in a Facebook video, thanking the comics community and others for many fund raising efforts, and its funding partners such as the National Lottery. “It’s been a long and difficult road for us the last few months, like many museums.”

Supporters have raised over £112,000 for the Cartoon Museum since a campaign began to prevent its closure as a result of its loss of income through admission fees and other revenue streams. This campaign has been boosted by further partnership support.

• The Cartoon Museum is at 63 Wells Street, Fitzrovia, London, W1T 3PT. Check new opening times here | Donations still very welcome
