Episode #124 of the Doctor Who: Panel to Panel podcast is live, and comic creator Scott Gray joins host Jeremy Bement to discuss how 2020 affected the strip in Doctor Who Magazine as well as Time Lord Victorious and more.
Scott is a longtime writer and editor of the DWM comic strip, steering the adventures of several incarnations through many delicious twists and turns with style born of inspired plots and a talent for good dialogue. He always has something interesting to say when it comes to Doctor Who in comics, so this is an episode of Panel to Panel you should not miss.
He reveals, for example, that demand for the recently-published The Daleks collection sold out – and there are hints that Panini may be looking at further reprints of older Doctor Who strips published before Marvel UK launched Doctor Who Weekly in 1979. Panini own reproduction rights to both the strips that ran in TV Comic from 1964 onwards, and the strips that ran in Countdown and TV Action in the 1970s.
Scott also reveals his thoughts on revisiting old Doctors in the comic strip, which he feels is best not overplayed in favour of new adventures, and talks about his approach to drawing as well as writing comics, noting he felt like he’d forgotten how to draw!
Jeremy also reviews the latest comic from Titan Comics, the new strip “The White Dragon” from DWM, and offers news and more.
