The Lakes International Comic Art Festival has launched its invitation for exhibitors to the ninth Festival, which will run from Friday 15th to Sunday 17th October 2021, with the Comics Clock Tower planned to be open as usual in Kendal Town Hall on the Saturday and Sunday.
This year, the Festival is offering full tables at £100 and half tables at £50, but cautions that they cannot offer shared tables this year.
“We are very excited about the prospect of a live Festival, and we’re currently very optimistic about the option of running an actual Comics Clock Tower on the Saturday and Sunday,” says team member and CCT co-ordinator Carole Tait.
“We will be announcing our decision to go live, or virtual in May 2021, and no payment will be requested before this decision has been taken.
“In the event we do go ahead, we will take every measure to ensure our staff, volunteers, exhibitors and the public are safe.”
The Festival organisation says that in the event that any ongoing coronavirus situation necessitates a change in plans for October, the all-year round Virtual Comics Clock Tower, where booked in exhibitors feature free of charge, will remain live.
“We’re really looking forward to seeing everyone back at a physical Lakes International Comic Art Festival,” said a Festival spokesperson. “Let’s do all we can to make that happen!”
