“Feral & Foe” returns in this week’s 2000AD – plus, our latest Rebellion Releases 2021 checklist

2000AD Prog 2224 Cover by John McCrea

A brand new series of “Feral & Foe” by Dan Abnett and Richard Elson begins in this week’s 2000AD (Prog 2224), an issue of the Galaxy’s Greatest Comic that should positively leap off news stand shelves thanks to its striking cover by John McCrea, coloured by Enrica Angiolini.

This great sword and sorcery series answers the question “What do you do when the dark lord you’ve been serving gets defeated by the forces of good?”.

Set five years after the Last-of-All-War, when the Monarchy succeeded in defeating the Malign Lord, his minions scattered, fleeing retribution from the Wretchfinders. Necromancer Bode and warrior Wrath are two beings previously on the losing side, offered a deal. Hunt and kill their own kind or be declared “Feral & Foe”. Now, they were thought dead in a last stand against Haggart Morn, when Bode released a malchemical bomb…

2000AD Prog 2224 - Feral & Foe

If that isn’t enough for you, then don’t miss artist Simon Davis lovely tip of the hat to BBC comedy Ghosts in “Thistlebone”!

Also out now is Judge Dredd Megazine Issue 430, which quite aside from offering some great strips, includes a wonderful tribute to the late Si Spencer, who died, unexpectedly, in February, and an interview with comic creators turned crime writers, David Bishop and Robbie Morrison.

(If you enjoy crime fiction, I read David’s City of Vengeance, set in medieval Florence against a background of court intrigue and murder, last week, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Well plotted, crammed with action, with a cast you grow to care about, it’s the first of what will hopefully be a series. Recommended.)
