John McCrea joins Mike Perkins and Brian Bolland on Swamp Thing for upcoming special issue

Out in June from US publisher DC Comics is The Swamp Thing #5 with covers by Mike Perkins, with Mike Spicer on colours, and Brian Bolland! Written by Ram V, news arrived that on this issue, John McCrea joins the team – drawing a story that also features John Constantine.

“John‘s stepping in to do the interiors on this one to provide me with some breathing space – and because he’s excellent!” says Mike.

“I’ve always wanted to draw both these characters,” says John, who’s currently running a crowdfunding campaign for a Dead Eyes Art Book, “so a dream job! Thanks to Ram V
and Mike Perkins for giving me the chance.”

Quite coincidentally, John gave fans a taster of how he would draw Swamp Thing just last month on Twitter, prompting numerous appeals to see him draw the strip.

He’s also been a convention sketch favourite in the past.
