London’s Cartoon Museum ‘Big Give’ Funding Appeal – details released

Via Bloghorn: London’s Cartoon Museum is taking part in The Big Give Christmas Challenge next week, which means that for a limited period donations to support the museum’s valuable work will be matched by other funders, making all contributions go further.

Anita O’Brien, the curator, explains more in the YouTube video above but essentially, for a limited time only, online donations to the Museum are matched by other funders on a first come, first served basis, so timing is of the essence. Every £5 that you give could be worth £10.

Matched funds will be released at 10.00am on the morning of 5th, 6th and 7th December and the Cartoon Museum is asking you to donate at that time before the match-funding runs out.

The money will fund the Cartoons and Comics for All Project, which aims to bring new visitors to the museum and provide free events and sessions for schools.

To donate online, click this link – but only on 5th, 6th or 7th December at 10.00am, so you might simply want to set yourself a reminder.

As we’ve previously reported, the museum is currently showing an exhibition of work by R.S. Sherriffs. A new exhibition – Bring Me Laughter – opens on 7th January 2014, followed by a Spitting Image exhibition on 26th February.
