Developed by Ergo Sum Games‘ Managing Director and founder, Nicholas J. Higgins, Dan Dare: Adventures in Space is promoted as featuring art by Martin Baines, the game is described as a strategy game for 2-6 players, for ages 12 and up.

“The original Dan Dare is back. Britain’s favourite sci-fi hero is finally here, in a board game extravaganza,” the trailer page for the game still notes. “All the main characters are represented in retro space adventures based on the original stories and escapades in a time when the solar system was teeming with alien life – some good and some very, very bad…”

Given the lack of news on the project, we contacted the company who told us it was still on course and would be released next year, “all being well”.

ESG published their post-apocalyptic game New Earth back in 2016, following a modest crowdfunding campaign. The release seems to have been something of a limited edition, collectable only at the UK Expo Ergo Sum Games fair that same year.

Alien Skies is detailed as in pre-publication, with other games – The Coast is Clear: Smugglers Run, Blue Gold, and Mysterious Island all in development.

Aside from its web site, and sister company Ludorati – both a Nottingham-based board game/escape room venue and games commerce site – ESG has a very small online presence.
