Digital Giving’s charity fund raising app T-Shirt Booth has confirmed its 20th licensed character, DC Thomson’s “Oor Wullie” has now joined the initiative.

His planned inclusion announced last year, fans and T-Shirt Booth customers can now customise their own t-shirts with Oor Wullie artwork from the Sunday Post strip, raising money for its affiliated charity, The Kiltwalk, which organises sponsored walking events to raise money to support Scottish children’s charities.

The charity aims to help Scottish children from disadvantaged backgrounds or who suffer form life-threatening illnesses, to get the care and attention they need.

“We are delighted to be able to support The Kiltwalk through T-Shirt Booth,” commented The Broons and Oor Wullie editor, Morris Heggie.

“It’s a great opportunity for us to support children’s charities throughout Scotland and, of course, Oor Wullie is chuffed to bits to appear on the t-shirt.”

Oor Wullie joins The Beano‘s Dennis the Menace and Gnasher  on the app (see news story), alongside other cartoon characters supporting a range of charities via the app, such as Bananaman (for Diabetes UK), Ben 10, Adventure Time (for Plan) and Thelwell Ponies (for Riding for the Disabled Association).

Grant Morgan, co-founder of Digital Giving, added: “We are absolutely delighted to see Oor Wullie joining a host of other children’s favourite characters in the digital fundraising product range.”
