Star Wars #1 (2015) - Forbidden planet Variant B/W Cover

Forbidden Planet is to offer its own variant cover by Adi Granov for the new Marvel Star Wars comic when it launches in January 2015.

The exclusive variant cover – available in colour and black and white versions – is a fabulous illustration of bounty hunter Boba Fett hitting the ground in distinctly Marvel style.

The first issue of the new Marvel Comics line opens with Luke Skywalker and his ragtag rebels fresh from the destruction of the Death Star.

Fuelled with confidence, the Rebel Alliance is striking out for freedom, against the evil forces of Darth Vader and his master, the Emperor.

How Marvel brought Star Wars to comics back in 1977.

How Marvel brought Star Wars to comics back in 1977.

Marvel Comics was the first publisher to offer licensed Star Wars comics back in 1977, but Dark Horse developed the license over many years. When Disney acquired both Marvel and, subsequently, Lucasfilm, it was only a matter of time before the comics returned to the hands of their original publisher.

Star Wars #1 is written by Jason Aaron (Original Sin, Thor: God of Thunder) and with art by John Cassaday (Astonishing X-Men, Uncanny Avengers), and goes on sale from 14th January 2015 in all good comic shops.
