Titan Comics has announced it has secured the license to publish Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed comics at San Diego Comic Con this weekend. The first five-part arc will be drawn by Marvel and Doctor Who: Four Doctors artist Neil Edwards, inked by Ivan Nunes, from a script by Anthony Del Col and Conor McCreery, the co-creators of Kill Shakespeare, which Universal Cable Productions has announced it has optioned as a TV series along with  El Pantera, scripted by Warren Ellis

Assassin’s Creed is one of the most popular franchises in the video game industry, with more than 93 million units sold since its inception in 2007. Over time, it has broadened its reach into numerous media beyond games, enriching the game’s lore for the joy of many fans.

Titan Comics will soon expand the realm of Assassin’s Creed visual storytelling with the creation of a brand new comic series.

“We’re so excited to be working with Ubisoft on this fantastic new adventure, said Lizzie Kaye, editor, Titan Comics. “Assassin’s Creed is one of the most notoriously beautiful games on the market, and the team at Ubisoft have created a world that is perfect for us to explore, expand and inhabit with a raft of new characters in new settings. We’re really hoping to surprise readers with the direction for this new series.”

As a company, Titan has a long association with Assassin’s Creed, with Titan Books publishing a number of tie-in titles. Earlier this year, Ubisoft announced Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, the next chapter in its popular history-hopping video game franchise, an epic single player experience set in London during the height of the Industrial Revolution, an incredible age of invention that transforms the lives of millions. The new game will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC this October.

Titan Books are publishing a tie-in book, The Art of Assassins Creed Syndicate, on 27th October, containing hundreds of never-before-seen pieces of concept art, including sketches, final paintings, 3D renders and texture studies, all sitting alongside insightful and comprehensive commentary from the artists and developers.
Highlights include a close look at the London Boroughs, each realised in extraordinary detail, staying true to both the historical roots of the area and giving each their own visual identity and population.

A special slipcase edition, limited to 500 copies, includes exclusive Assassin’s Creed Syndicate concept art prints, signed by the artists.
