Mœbius illustrations help celebrate work of Paulo Coelho

The work of Brazilian author Paulo Coelho was celebrated at the current Salon du Livre in Geneva, Switzerland. (Albeit very briefly, if my limited French is correct).

The exhibition includes all 35 watercolour illustrations by the late, great Mœbius  for The Illustrated Alchemist: A Fable About Following Your Dream which was published in 1998.

Given Mœbius’ other work, it’s no surprise to me that he would be chosen to illustrate Coelho’s fantasy tale of an Andalusian shepherd boy on a treasure-hunting journey to Egypt, but I wasn’t aware of this edition of this wonderful book, drawn to my attention by comics historian Paul Gravett. My thanks to him.
