While the Polish comics industry may not be as internationally recognised as that of the US or the Francophone countries, it certainly has its own share of writers and artists creating world-class comics. From the most famous albums and books and the best known names of the comics industry to obscure classics and personal suggestions, everyone can find something to suit them in the world of Polish comics.

Here’s “A Foreigner’s Guide to Polish Comics” on Culture.pl by Łukasz Chmielewski, published last year, offering a terrific insight into the range on offer, most recently highlighted in the increasingly confident catalogue being published in English by Centrala, an organisation promoting comics from Central Europe who set up a British arm back in 2013 and organisers of the Polish comic con Ligatura, which takes place in Poznań.
