A special DFDS Seaways Beano is now available free on board DFDS ships.
Ace writer Nigel Auchterlounie tells us he wrote the scripts the Dennis and Gnasher, Billy Whizz, Gnasher and Gnipper, Minnie the Minx,Calamity James, Bash Street Kids, Numskulls, Ball Boy, Bananaman and Roger the Dodger stories in the comic and a special eight-page strip called “Dunkirk or Bust” starring all your Beano favourites.
See what happens when Dennis the Menace bumps into a mermaid en route to France, or when Minnie the Minx goes wildlife-spotting onboard an Newcastle-Amsterdam ferry. Will Roger the Dodger succeed in his attempts to access the Premium Lounge?
The only way to find out is to pick up a copy onboard, but don’t miss out, because they will only be available on board DFDS ships in July and August.
These special, limited-edition copies of The Beano are completely free and can be picked up from the children’s play areas on the ships on the company’s Dover to Calais, Dover to Dunkirk and Newcastle to Amsterdam routes.
Be sure to pick one up if you’re on board – or, if you know anyone catching the ferry over the holidays, ask them to pick you one up.
“I’m really pleased with it,” says Nigel. “Writing all the stories in it meant that I could link the stories together. You can spot Bananaman and Billy Whizz in Dennis, Minnie is in Bash Street Kids…”
To help celebrate the DFDS partnership with The Beano, six very special prizes are up for grabs to give away to lucky competition winners. Three entrants will win an annual subscription to The Beano, while three other winners will get a free Dover-France ferry crossing or Newcastle-Amsterdam mini cruise on a date of their choice, subject to availability.
