Johnny Red Volume 4 On Sale Now

Johnny Red Volume 4: Flying Gun

Out now from Titan Comics is Johnny Red Volume 4: Flying Gun, the long-awaited fourth collection of classic strips featuring Britain’s Easter Front-seconded air ace.

Written by Tom Tully and drawn by John Cooper – two immense talents of British comics sadly no longer with us – this collection, taken from the pages of war comic Battle, follows straight on from the previous three collections, which stalled somewhere over the North Sea back in 2013.

In Volume 4, Johnny Redburn has just led Falcon Squadron on a successful mission over Stalingrad. But Major Rastovitch has a new mission for Johnny: to fly an important Russian official to a top-secret conference in England in the incredible “Flying Gun”. The stakes are high and danger never far away …

It’s great to see this collection out at last, and that the new Johnny Red mini series by Garth Ennis and Keith Burns looks set for its collected release in November.

Here’s some pages from the new collection, which is on sale in comic shops now, although strangely, it’s being listed on Amazon.co.uk and ForbiddenPlanet.com as out later in the year

  1. I’m guessing that this Titan line of Battle reprints is now finished, John? Three and a half years since the last Johnny Red!
