Episode 59 of Doctor Who: Panel to Panel is available for download, and interviewed this time out is Mark Wright, the new ongoing writer of the Doctor Who Magazine comic strip.

Mark WrightA writer who frequently collaborates with Cavan Scott, he also served as a production assistant on DWM beginning with Issue 448 and is very busy at present as co-editor of Panini’s Doctor Who Complete History part work, which will keep him busy for the next two years! His credits include numerous Doctor Who audio adventures for Big Finish, Iris Widthyme stories and much more.

With Cavan, he’s co-author of the best-selling Who-ology, the official miscellany to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who, and the BBC audiobooks Doctor Who: The Nu-Humans and Doctor Who: Night of the Whisper.

Mark joins erudite host Jeremy Bement to chat about his career, plans for the comic and more.

Plus, there’s a review of Part One of Mark’s story “The Pestilent Heart“, which started in DWM Issue 501, a creepy story set in 1970s London that sees the return of the avian Corvids who first appeared in “The Highgate Horror” earlier this year.

The story is drawn by Mike Collins, inked by David Roach, coloured by James Offredi and lettered by Roger Langridge and in online discussion on the publication of the first episode, Mark revealed how much research he and Mike put into ensuring the visuals were historically accurate – even including Underground ticket barriers that had only just been introduced, which I hadn’t realised had been first introduced on the Victoria Line, that long ago.

Also reviewed is the Tenth Doctor story Tesseract, first published by IDW and just re-published by Titan Comics, Doctor Who comic news and more.
