Warner Bros. Consumer Products is gearing up for the launch of its DC Super Hero Girls franchise, with a series of new retail promotions throughout the UK.
The DC Super Hero Girls show, which airs on Boomerang, focuses on the formative high school years of numerous comic heroines, prior to discovering their full super power potential, including Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batgirl, Harley Quinn, Bumblebee, Poison Ivy, Katana and many more. DC Comics has released a number of tie-in titles.
We first reported on the DC Super Hero Girls back in March but now LicensingBiz reports WBCP has lined up partnerships with High Street stores, grocers and online stores, including Smyths, Toys R Us, Tesco, Asda, Argos and Amazon will support the official merchandising programme that covers more than 30 categories.
“With our best-in-class licensees and partners, we’re excited to bring this girl-empowered programme to fans around the world and allow them to imagine, aspire and be strong, brave and powerful,” said Pam Lifford, president of Warner Bros. Consumer Products.
Master toy partner Mattel is already on board, along with Random House Children’s Books as master publishing partner, LEGO as the exclusive construction partner and Rubie’s Costumes.
Pyramid will also be launching posters, badges, mugs, key chains and notebooks.
