Sharpen your pencils and wits and have a bash at entering this year’s 10th Anniversary Graphic Short Story Prize organised by The Observer, Jonathan Cape and Comica London and open to UK residents.

Get working on your four-page comic and submit it by the deadline of 3rd October 2016.

“Jonathan Cape and Comica have got together with the Observer to offer you the chance to see your work in print and win £1,000. Take this opportunity to get your work read by industry experts. The judges are Sebastian Faulks (bestselling author of Where My Heart Used to Beat and Birdsong), Steve Bell (Guardian political cartoonist and author of If…The Graphic Novel), Rachel Cooke (Observer), Dan Franklin (Associate Publisher, Jonathan Cape), Paul Gravett (Co-Director, Comica London) and Suzanne Dean (Creative Director, Vintage).

“The first prize is £1,000 and publication in the Observer New Review. The runner-up will receive £250 and their work will appear on theguardian.com.”
