Dan Dare Audio Adventures: Reign of the Robots Poster Revealed, story by Doctor Who author Simon Guerrier

B7 Media has revealed Brian Williamson‘s poster for Reign of the Robots, one of three Dan Dare Audio Adventures that will be released in April 2017.

Written by Simon Guerrier and starring Ed Stoppard as Dan Dare, Geoff McGivern as Digby and Heida Reed as Profssor Peabody, in Reign of the Robots Dan Dare and his crew finally return to Earth. Landing in central London, they find the city deserted – or that’s how it seems at first.

But soon Dare faces an army of ruthless machines, robots who have conquered the planet and placed the surviving humans in slave camps. The robots are too powerful and too numerous to be resisted, and their invasion is complete.With limited resources, Dare, Digby and Peabody face their greatest challenge yet – to liberate planet Earth. But the task becomes more desperate than ever when Dan discovers the alien force behind the robot invasion…

British science fiction author, dramatist and editor Simon Guerrier has written numerous novels – including three Doctor Who adventures – and is best known for his scripts for Big Finish Productions’ audio drama and book ranges, working on series such as Doctor Who, Sapphire and Steel and Bernice Summerfield.

This isn’t the first time Brian has illustrated Simon’s work. He previously drew 36 instalments of AAAGH! that he wrote, which you can view on Simon’s web site.

Simon’s latest Doctor Who story for Big Finish is Doctor Who – The Sontarans, available now, starring Peter Purves and Jean Marsh, detailing the first encounter between the Doctor and those potato-headed monstrosities.

Reign of the Robots is one of three further adventures based on the Eagle comic strip “Dan Dare” created by Reverend Marcus Morris, written and drawn by Frank Hampson will be released in April, following on Volume One which is now on sale exclusively from Big Finish. Also in the pipeline are Operation Saturn, written by Patrick Chapman and Prisoners of Space by Colin Brake.

The founder of downthetubes, which he established in 1998. John works as a comics and magazine editor, writer, and on promotional work for the Lakes International Comic Art Festival. He is currently editor of Star Trek Explorer, published by Titan – his third tour of duty on the title originally titled Star Trek Magazine.

Working in British comics publishing since the 1980s, his credits include editor of titles such as Doctor Who Magazine, Babylon 5 Magazine, and more. He also edited the comics anthology STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics. He has also edited several comic collections, including volumes of “Charley’s War” and “Dan Dare”.

He’s the writer of “Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies” for B7 Comics; “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs” with Dave Hailwood.
