Art Model Collective and 2000AD team up up for unique “Muties & Perps” life drawing event in London

2000AD Muties & Perps is a unique life drawing session

Budding artists should prepare to head into the dystopian futurescape of Mega-City One, the home of Judge Dredd, with the first part of 2000AD’s 40th anniversary celebrations.

Muties & Perps is a unique life drawing session taking place at London’s Resistance Gallery next month, organised by the Art Model Collective and 2000AD.

Hosted by acclaimed multimedia artist, festival curator, and subculture denizen Jason Atomic, citizens will have the chance to draw life-models Manko and Carla, who will be styled to resemble the denizens of the post-apocalyptic wasteland of the Cursed Earth and futuropolis Mega-City One.

The three-hour drawing session will feature Manko and Carla in a series of dynamic poses ranging from ten to 30 minutes in length. Drawing boards and some basic materials will be provided but it is recommended artists bring their favourite tools.

This is just the first of several satellite events taking place around 2000AD’s 40th birthday in February, which include the sell-out 40 Years of Thrill-power Festival taking place on 11th February in London to mark four decades of British comics’ greatest export.

As well as the one-day convention in Hammersmith with more than one hundered creator guests from the past 40 years, 2000AD is also organising a series of events around London and across the country to celebrate this landmark.
