Terry Anderson of the Cartoonists Rights Network returns to Granite City Comic Con in Aberdeen in May 2017, to discuss the work of the group.
Cartoonists Rights Network International is the human rights organisation specifically for cartoonists whose liberty or lives are threatened due to their work.
2015 will be remembered for the Charlie Hebdo attack but had that not occurred it still would have been the worst year on record for the persecution of cartoonists around the world.
Terry presents the stories of several cartoonists who have been arrested, imprisoned or worse for the simple of act of creating cartoons. Based in Glasgow, he’s a former president of the Scottish Artists’ Union and also a member of the Professional Cartoonists’ Organisation.
Other guests at the event taking place at the Hilton Treetops include 2000AD‘s John Wagner, Glen Fabry and Ryan Brown.
