The Locus Science Fiction Foundation has announced the top ten finalists in each category of the 2017 Locus Awards. They include numerous British creators such as Stephen Baxter, MR Carey, Paul Cornell, Dermot Power, Alistair Reynolds, Charles Stross and Jo Walton.

Winners will be announced during the Locus Awards Weekend in Seattle, over 23rd – 25th June 2017; author Connie Willis will MC the awards ceremony. Additional weekend events include author readings with Connie Willis and Carrie Vaughn; a kickoff Clarion West party honouring first week instructor Daryl Gregory, Clarion West supporters, awards weekend ticket holders, and special guests; panels with leading authors; an autograph session with books available for sale thanks to University Book Store; and a lunch banquet with the annual Hawai’ian shirt contest, all followed by a Locus party on Saturday night. There’s more information on the Weekend here.

The Locus Awards are chosen by a survey of readers in an open online poll that runs from 1st February to 15th April each year. The magazine welcomes and invites everyone to vote in the poll. Their recommended list for 2016 can be found here.
