Comic Art Festival Podcast - Episode Four

The latest Comic Art Festival Podcast (Episode Four) is live and features an interview with Marc Jackson, who has written and drawn for Aces Weekly and Beano and is currently working on Here Comes Cat Stevens which will be officially launched at the 2017 Lakes International Comic Art Festival in October.

Marc, who will also be at Lancaster Comics Day on Sunday 11th June, talks about how hard it is to get noticed as a new comic book creator and the journey he has gone through to now creating his own book.

Here Comes Cat Stevens by Marc Jackson

Marc’s fans will get a first look at his new comic at this year’s Macc-Pow in Macclesfield July, with the full support of the Lakes International Comic Art Festival.

“Ever since receiving the grant from the Arts Council last month, I’ve been working full steam on this comic,” Marc enthused over on Facebook, “and that has really paid off and LICAF gave me their blessing to put it out early. I can’t wait for this comic to be out and see what you all think, it’s a whole lotta of four colour fun, that’s for sure!”

If you can’t make it to Macclesfield this Summer, don’t panic, Here Comes Cat Stevens still going to get an official launch at LICAF in October, with lots of workshops themed around it and more.

The Comic Art Festival Podcast is hosted by Ian Loxam and Nikki Watts, who live in Kendal. They’re also the hosts of the podcast House of Geek which they have been hosting for a few years and felt that a podcast about the Lakes International Comic Art Festival would be ideal. An article featured in the local newspaper the Westmorland Gazette can be found here.

Also in the podcast, contributor Mike Williams talks about films turned back into comics and Pete (aka Two Headed Boy) talks all about Will Eisner. There’s also talk about the new Judge Dredd TV show announcement.
