Marvel UK “Real Ghostbusters” Art up for sale

British comic artist Phil Elliott has decided he can’t keep lugging all his artwork around and is selling everything and anything – including art for Marvel UK’s The Real Ghostbusters comic.

There are, of course original artwork from his various other ventures, including Gimbley, Doc Chaos, Tupelo, Illegal Alien and many more.

About 100 pages of art he did for The Real Ghostbusters comic are up for grabs for £30 a page including postage in the UK (Postage prices will vary for any foreign orders).

Phil has been active in the comic book industry since the mid-1970’s. He launched and co-edited the Fast Fiction fanzine in the ‘80s and was a regular artist in the influential Escape magazine. His other work includes Illegal Alien written by James Robinson; Lucifer with Eddie Campbell; writing Absent Friends for Paul Grist; Tupelo with Matt DeGennaro; and illustrating Glenn Dakin’s Greenhouse Warriors, Mr Night and The Rockpool Files.

Phil’s work has also appeared in Aces Weekly and Power Rangers magazine and many other comics and magazines published by the likes of Dark Horse, DC, Fantagraphics, Image and Rebellion. He has coloured Doctor Who comics for IDW Publishing and Torchwood for Titan.

John Freeman

The founder of downthetubes, which he established in 1998. John works as a comics and magazine editor, writer, and on promotional work for the Lakes International Comic Art Festival. He is currently editor of Star Trek Explorer, published by Titan – his third tour of duty on the title originally titled Star Trek Magazine.

Working in British comics publishing since the 1980s, his credits include editor of titles such as Doctor Who Magazine, Babylon 5 Magazine, and more. He also edited the comics anthology STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics. He has also edited several comic collections, including volumes of “Charley’s War” and “Dan Dare”.

He’s the writer of “Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies” for B7 Comics; “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs” with Dave Hailwood.
