Sneak Peek: 2000AD 2059 and Signing News!

2000AD 2059 - Cover

Featuring cracking cover art by Tiernen Trevallion, who also delivers another terrific episode of “Absalom” scripted by Gordon Rennie, 2000AD Prog 2059 is on sale in all good newsagents and comic shops tomorrow.

Fronted by an all-action Dredd episode from Michael Carroll and PJ Holden that sees the lawman facing off deadly killers and the threat of a 20-year stretch in an East-Meg Gulag, some of this Prog’s other tales, such as the latest Sinister Dexter from Dan Abnett and Paul Marshall, are set up more than fast-moving. That said, the Dexter tale raises some spectres from the hitmen’s past that are so coming back to bite them, and the art is terrific.

Eddie Robson‘s “Tharg’s 3rillers: House of the Gilded Peak” is similarly a slow burn of an episode, but there’s a lot to keep you guessing, wondering if this is some clever twist to come with this Dungeons and Dragons-inspired tale drawn by Steven Austin. I have some ideas, but no inclination to spoil it for you.

The horror of the latest Slaine from Pat Mills and Simon Davis lies not in the art, which is as ever stunning, but the far-reaching plans for humankind on the part of the Archon Yaldabaoth. Gothic nastiness at its best in more ways than one…

Gun-sharks Finnigan SINISTER and Ramone DEXTER are the best hitmen money can buy in the future city of Downlode.
