Oh, what a raffle, what a lovely raffle! Here’s an opportunity to win one of these two Mad Max: Fury Road original gouache paintings by Graeme Neil Reid.
The 2015 action film Mad Max: Fury Road took the world by storm and won six Academy Awards along with countless other awards for director George Miller and the team involved in bringing Mad Max back to the big screen.
Since the fourth film in the franchise there had been a 30 year gap between Fury Road and the previous film, Beyond Thunderdome, starring Mel Gibson. For Fury Road the role of Max passed onto Tom Hardy – but it is just as much the world and characters that the ex-police officer finds himself in that pushes the fourth film on with such energy and pace.
Two different paintings based on the film are on offer for Graeme Neil Reid’s monthly Art Raffle.
Graeme is a Scottish artist who now works primarily in traditional mediums of watercolour and acrylic. His work has graced many different areas including books (The Dangerous Book of Heroes), television (World’s Strongest Man), gaming (Need for Speed), magazines (Radio Times), comics (2000AD and Judge Dredd), online and apps (Doctor Who).
On offer this month – with his ‘blood bag’ hooked up to the front of his V8, Nux will show his devotion to Immortan Joe who will carry him personally to the gates of Valhalla for helping him return his treasures. “If I’m gonna die, I’m gonna die historic on the Fury Road!”
Driving the War Rig to Gas Town, Imperator Furiosa goes off road in an attempt to lead her and Immortan Joe’s treasures to the ‘green place’ and away from their lives trapped in the Citadel. “You wanna get through this? Do as I say. Now pick up what you can and run.”
Both paintings were painted on Arches Cold Pressed 300gsm watercolour paper at 17cm x 12cm size.
Entering couldn’t be easier, by pledging just $1 a month on Graeme’s Patreon site you get entered into the Art Raffle plus rewards including Work in Progress posts, Art Club with first chance to buy his art, postcards, stickers, PDF books to download and a range of discounts at his Etsy Store.
You can read more information about the raffle and see all the previous winners and prizes over at his blog.
The competition will run until midnight (GMT) of the 30th April 2018, and the winner will be notified shortly afterwards. The winner will get to choose one of the two paintings as their prize and the other painting will be available to buy, first to Graeme’s Patreon supporters with an added discount and then at his Esty shop.
