The Beano has stormed London’s Victoria and Albert (V&A) Museum, and is holding out there until August, poking fun at anyone who dares moan about the idea, until August.

Unless you’ve been sleeping under a rock, you’ll already know 2018 marks eighty years of continuous publication for the much loved comic. Plans for the V&A tie-in were reported here on downthetubes last year, after the Daily Mail went mental over the idea of “farting statues” and it was suggested the exhibition was actually destined for the new V&A in Dundee.

But no, the Beano is firmly in situ in the London museum, with display illustrating the processes and development of Beano characters with artwork from publisher DC Thomson’s archives.

If you’re in the capital. head over there now and find out what’s on view, take your kids too – not that they should will need encouraging, they probably already know the V&A is brilliant and this is just a bonus!
