Glasgow-based comic writer Craig Collins has released a collection of his small press oddball comedy to date, Haunted Bowels.
Craig Collins is perhaps best known as the co-creator of Roachwell, a surreal comedy horror comic with art by Iain Laurie which was nominated for Best Writer and Best Comic at the Scottish Independent Comic Book Awards.
He’s also had work published in the likes of New British Comics, Top Shelf Online, Scream Magazine, Wasted and Viz.
“Haunted Bowels is a collection of small press comedy comics,” says Craig. “Gruesome gags and oddball humour, surreal comedy and morbid light entertainment.
“Omniscient beings, strange cowboys, troubled poets and unruly spectres and much more await within…!”
The 28-page A5 comic comes chocked to the gills with comics and features art by Dave Alexander, James Corcoran, Iain Laurie, Paul McCann, Rob Miller, Nulsh, Curt Sibling, Robert Thomson and Jacek Zabawa. It’s available for only £3 plus postage from Craig’s Store.
The founder of downthetubes, which he established in 1998. John works as a comics and magazine editor, writer, and on promotional work for the Lakes International Comic Art Festival. He is currently editor of Star Trek Explorer, published by Titan – his third tour of duty on the title originally titled Star Trek Magazine.
Working in British comics publishing since the 1980s, his credits include editor of titles such as Doctor Who Magazine, Babylon 5 Magazine, and more. He also edited the comics anthology STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics. He has also edited several comic collections, including volumes of “Charley’s War” and “Dan Dare”.
He’s the writer of “Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies” for B7 Comics; “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs” with Dave Hailwood.
